What are you seeking?

  • To learn more about Jesus and what the Christian faith is all about.

  • A safe place of spiritual healing.

  • A church community where you can make friends, join a Bible study, and engage in service.

Whatever you are seeking, we pray that as you walk through our doors, you will feel welcomed and loved!

“Seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness….”

– Matthew 6:33

Membership

Becoming a member is your way to say, “I want to claim the mission of Bonsack Baptist as my own.” You’re no longer a casual observer or even a curious participant—you are personally owning the mission of the church.

To initiate the membership process, tell a minister you would like to become a member or come to the front at the end of any worship service. All members are encouraged to join a life group to make friends, study the Bible, and serve the community together.

“For the body does not consist of one member but of many…. God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose.” – 1 Corinthians 12:14, 18.

How can I help?

The local church is the best context to discover your spiritual gifts and engage in service. Ministry is not what a few staff and volunteers do for everyone else. Ministry is what we all do together! Everyone plays a part.

Serving obviously helps others, but the benefits to your own life are real. Serving together can be the best way to make friends, grow spiritually, and experience fulfillment.

“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant … for even Jesus did not come to be served, but to serve.” – Mark 10:43, 45.

Become a Leader

We are always seekers, members, and servants, as we seek God’s will, participate in the life of the church body, and serve others. Leadership grows out of our experience in these areas.

Being a leader doesn’t mean being loud and in charge and subordinating others. Being a leader means you have the capacity to influence others who follow your example. Some of us are called to lead from the front in more obvious ways. For others, leadership is indirect, quiet, and behind the scenes. All kinds of leaders are important and needed!

Growing as a leader may be your next step to steward the gifts God has given you and better serve the people around you.

“Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.” – 1 Corinthians 11:1.
