Minister of Music
Testimony: I grew up near Birmingham, Alabama in a Christian home, began taking piano lessons at age four, and gave my life to Christ at age six. My testimony is not that exciting, but I appreciate the ability to look back and see how God was working from the very beginning.
Describe your area of ministry: Our fully graded music ministry consists of our Adult Choir, Orchestra, Handbells, CLC Praise Band & Choir, Music Time for Kids Choirs, Student Choir, Student Band, Senior Adult Choir. By connecting with our music ministry, over two hundred members provide musical leadership in worship and enhance our special productions throughout the course of a year. Our music ministry touches every generation of our church, with active participants in our graded choirs spanning from three-years-old to their mid-90s with every decade between.
Why does your ministry exist? Music and Worship Ministry at Bonsack Baptist exists to glorify God and build believers through robust artistic expression in both of our Sunday worship services. We seek to create a hospitable worship environment that is theologically and musically robust while we strive for Christ-like excellence together.
Why should someone choose to be involved in your ministry? Our participant shave listed lots of reasons for getting involved including an outlet for stress and the opportunity to go on music mission trips. No matter what first gets someone connected, the Music Ministry creates an opportunity for us to create beautiful music to the glory of God, all while developing musical skills, building relationships, exploring mission related opportunities, and having lots of fun.
How would you describe your passion in 1 sentence? I am passionate about shaping our church's worship, because I've seen how worship can shape us to be more like Jesus!
Hobbies: Spending time with my family, preferably on one of the many beautiful hiking trail in our area.
Fun Facts: When I was a kid, I won first place in the National Bowed Psaltery Competition! If you know what a Bowed Psaltery is that might sound cool until I mention there was only one other contestant and the "national" competition was held at the state park next door to my home.
