Bonsack Baptist Church is embarking on a great adventure by opening the Community Life Center (CLC) in the coming months. As the Bonsack Baptist Church Community Life Center will be a primarily volunteer-run facility, it is a mission field in our own backyard that will touch the lives of many. If you are looking for a way to impact our community for Christ, please consider being a volunteer in the CLC.
The recreation volunteer will be a key component of the operations of the Community Life Center, helping to check patrons in and out, enforce the rules of the CLC, clean the equipment, facilitate programs and activites, and potentially open and close the facility. The most important job of the recreation volunteer will be to greet and get to know the patrons. The CLC will be a place where people can feel like they belong and that they matter, and recreation volunteers may be the first people from the church that patrons meet. This is a missions opportunity to build relationships with the people of the community. Opportunities to serve will be offered for mornings, during the day, and evenings.
Coffee Shop/ Book Nook Volunteer
This volunteer will have a unique environment to engage visitors from the community and build relationships over cups of coffee and conversation. Responsibilities may include being knowledgeable about the coffee being served, running a cash register, assisting patrons in selecting purchasable items such as books, and keeping the equipment and space clean.
Community Room Set-Up and Take Down
Because the Community Room services will being moving into the CLC, each week the CLC will need to be made ready for Sunday morning. We will need multiple teams of people to help move chairs and other equipment in order to make the CLC ready for worship, and this is a great way to serve the church body.
